What we offer

USFS Membership

As a member of our club, you’ll receive an annual subscription to the award-winning Skating Magazine, keeping you up-to-date on the latest in the skating world.

Club Ice/Social Events

Our club offers numerous social events that are perfect for connecting with fellow skaters and their families. These include regular club ice sessions, our popular Boots & Buddies mentorship program, and fun, holiday-themed events like our annual Trunk or Treat. These gatherings provide an excellent opportunity to relax, celebrate achievements, and form lasting friendships within the skating community.

As a member, you’ll also gain exclusive access to our Annual Awards Gala, where your skater’s achievements are celebrated, and their hard work throughout the year is honored in a special way.

Discounted & Priority Access to Workshops & Seminars

As a TGCFSC member, you gain priority access to exclusive workshops and seminars designed to enhance your skating skills, as well as discounted rates for participation. For example, in 2025, the club hosted The Strategic Method for a two-day camp, and all TGCFSC members received priority registration and a $50 discount on the camp fee. These opportunities allow members to learn from top-tier professionals and industry experts, giving them a competitive edge while fostering continuous growth.

Skater Recognition

Becoming a member means your skater’s accomplishments won’t go unnoticed. We take great pride in celebrating every milestone, from landing their first axel to passing a test or achieving a gold medal. Our club also recognizes outstanding progress with awards like Skater of the Month, which highlights a skater who has shown exceptional dedication and improvement. These celebrations inspire skaters to continue pushing themselves to new heights. Our supportive environment fosters confidence and motivation, making every achievement an opportunity to shine and grow.

Financial Stipends

For eligible Full Home Club members who compete at the highest levels in qualifying competitions, we offer financial stipends to help support their journey. Awards are based on the club’s available resources and are determined annually. For more information, refer to the Skater Stipend Guidelines.

Test Sessions

We offer bi-monthly virtual test sessions and occasional in-person sessions throughout the year, giving skaters the flexibility to test when they’re ready. This allows them to progress toward their goals efficiently, without unnecessary delays. Club members enjoy discounted rates on tests and re-tests, and home skaters benefit from the added convenience of testing on their own ice.

Sugar Skate & Skate Houston

Our two annual competitions—Sugar Skate in the spring and Skate Houston over Labor Day weekend—provide a fantastic opportunity for our members to compete locally, eliminating the need for extensive travel. These events are a great way to gain valuable competition experience in a familiar environment.

Exhibitions & Critiques

During the 2024–2025 skating year, TGCFSC hosted three exhibitions—for NQS participants, Skate Houston, and Sugar Skate—as well as a critique for all TGCFSC IJS-level skaters participating in Sugar Skate. Exhibitions, open to members from Basic Skills and up, offer skaters the chance to perform in full costume ahead of competitions. IJS-level skaters also benefit from critiques, which provide personalized feedback through a private session with a judge, the skater, and their coach.

Junior Board

The Junior Board offers a unique opportunity for high school students to become leaders within the club while making a difference in our skating community. As a Junior Board member, you'll have the chance to play a key role in running the popular Boots & Buddies program, which pairs experienced skaters with beginners to help them grow their skills and confidence. You’ll also be directly involved in planning and organizing exciting club events, such as the Annual Awards Gala, where skaters and their families celebrate the year’s achievements.

Joining the Junior Board not only gives you a chance to contribute to the success of the club, but it also helps you develop leadership, teamwork, and event planning skills that will serve you beyond the rink. It’s a fantastic way to get involved, make lasting connections, and leave your mark on the club while having a lot of fun along the way!

Community & Supportive Environment

Becoming a member of TGCFSC means joining a supportive, tight-knit community of passionate skaters, families, and coaches. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced skater, you’ll find encouragement and camaraderie among your peers. We believe in celebrating each skater’s journey and fostering a positive environment where everyone’s progress is valued.
